As December approaches, students can begin counting down to the long winter break. To give everyone something fun to look forward to, StuCo has planned several exciting events for the week of December 15th, 2025. These activities include Spirit Week, a Winter Festival, a Duck Hunt, and a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Day.
The week of December 15th will mark the first spirit week of the school year. Stuco kept some classic and well-liked themes from last year, such as Grade Color Competition and Pajama Day on Tuesday and Wednesday. For the Grade Color Competition, StuCo will plan a prize for the grade that has the highest percentage of students who are dressed in their grade color. The prize will remain a mystery for now. In addition, new themes, including TikTok Trend, Teacher vs. Student, and Winter Festival, were added, which will take place on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Students are welcome to follow the Student Council Instagram page to remind themselves about the themes and stay updated on events.
Last year, StuCo planned the activity of Elf on the Shelf for the holiday. This year, instead of repeating the same event, StuCo came up with a Duck Hunt, where mini Christmas ducks are hidden around the 5th floor, and the student who finds the most mini ducks will win a prize. This activity is your hint to pay attention to every little corner around the school because you might discover surprises there!
Friday will also be a Social Emotional Learning Day, when the school focuses on promoting important skills like empathy, self-awareness, and relationship building. These skills are responsible for supporting students’ mental health and overall well-being, which directly affects academic success. One new event Stuco planned this year is the movie morning on Friday. Students will take a trip to the auditorium and watch a Christmas movie. Afterwards, they will return to the 5th floor during lunch to celebrate the Winter Festival, where the PA will be serving food to students.
StuCo encourages students to participate in the events, dress up for spirit week, and take advantage of this opportunity to relax and connect with friends before the long holiday. With a mix of school spirit, fun activities, and time to recharge, the week of December 15th is shaping up to be an exciting and memorable start to winter break.
